The Gulf conference is one of the regular events on our DEEPEND calendar and one of our best opportunities to tap in with the wider Gulf community of researchers, resource managers, and stakeholders. For the next GulfCon, Tracey Sutton and I will be hosting a session under the "Living Resources" theme titled "The open ocean as a nexus for ecological connectivity in the Gulf".
I think we might also be the only dedicated pelagic ecology session at the conference, so if you are working in this arena and will be attending, give our session a look. Abstracts are due on November 7th; after that, you can catch up with the science at the conference itself in Mobile, AL; 4th - 7th May 2026.
