The sampling gear we have used throughout the ONSAP, DEEPEND and RESTORE programs in the Gulf of Mexico is the 10-m2 Multiple Opening Closing Net and Environmental Sensing System (MOCNESS), which we use to collect samples of micronekton from 0 - 1500 m from discrete depth intervals. In our videos, you can see us launch and recover the MOCNESS in the Gulf of Mexico from on board the RV Point Sur.
